OTTAWA鈥擳he Canadian 麻豆传媒高清ion Association (CCA) and 100 of its members were on Parliament Hill in Ottawa today (Nov. 27) to discuss three key issues facing the industry with federal decision-makers: investor confidence in Canada, an inclusive workforce and innovation.
The day also marks CCA鈥檚 100th anniversary.
General, trade and civil contractors, together with manufacturers, suppliers and industry association leaders, were among the delegates who took part in the day.
鈥淥ur central message is that the Canadian 麻豆传媒高清ion industry is the backbone of the government鈥檚 Investing in Canada plan,鈥 said Zey Emir, chair of CCA, in a statement. 鈥淥ur industry employs 1.4 million Canadians, many who work for small or medium sized firms. The government鈥檚 continued investment in infrastructure spending and commitment to ensuring that the funds flow to communities is essential to a vibrant Canada.鈥
CCA is a 20,000-firm strong organization drawing membership from 63 local and provincial construction associations in every province and territory, states a release, adding annually construction is responsible for nearly $119 billion in economic activity or seven per cent of Canada鈥檚 overall gross domestic product.
