Boralex announces strong Q2 project pipeline

MONTREAL — Quebec-based Boralex has announced it added 743 megawatts of capacity to its project pipeline in the second quarter of 2021.

Reporting on Aug. 6, the renewable energy producer stated that 553 megawatts in wind and solar projects and 190 megawatts in energy storage projects were added to the early-stage phase of its project pipeline in Q2. Four projects totalling 41 megawatts have advanced to the secured stage of Boralex’s Growth Path and the Bois des Fontaines (25 megawatts), Moulins du Lohan (65 megawatts) and Bougainville repowering (six megawatts) wind projects in France are now at the ready-to-build stage.

Boralex is France’s largest independent producer of onshore wind power, and has facilities or projects in development in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. Its installed capacity has more than doubled over the past five years and now stands at 2.5 gigawatts.
