Davisville Community and Aquatic Centre dives into construction

TORONTO — This project is sure to make a splash.

Ground was broken recently on Toronto’s e, a new multi-use facility that will feature a wide range of amenities, a variety of programming spaces and multi-purpose rooms.

Located east of the Yonge Street and Davisville Avenue intersection, key highlights include:

  • A 25-metre swimming pool for both recreational swimming and swim training;
  • a warm-water leisure pool for therapeutic use and family-friendly programming;
  • a fitness centre with equipment for cardio, strength training and fitness classes;
  • community meeting rooms and multipurpose spaces; and
  • an accessible design for all community members.

Expected to open in 2027, the centre was also developed with sustainability in mind and will adhere to the city’s net-zero emissions facilities with energy-efficient systems and environmentally responsible elements.

The centre will share facilities with the new Davisville Junior Public School through a partnership with the Toronto District School Board, explains a release.

The school will have access to the facility’s swimming pools and the city will have access to the school’s double gymnasium and underground parking garage outside of school hours.
