UPDATE: No injuries reported after crane collapses downtown Toronto

TORONTO – Toronto police are reporting no one was injured after a crane collapsed onto an under construction building this afternoon in the area of Vanderhoof Avenue and Brentcliffe Road.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m.

While details are scarce as to the cause of the collapse, police reported Vanderhoof Avenue was closed between Laird Drive and Brentcliffe Road.

A Ministry of Labour inspector has been assigned to the incident and the investigation is ongoing.

Photos from the site indicate it is the Upper East Village project, a new master-planned community at Eglinton Avenue and Brentcliffe Road, in the Leaside neighbourhood.Ìý

Camfrost Felcorp is the developer with Camcorp construction.Ìý

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development attended the site. One requirement was issued to the employer, Advance Forming Inc. The investigation is ongoing.
