Busy times at Ontario One Call
The Ontario Regional Common Ground Alliance鈥檚 latest newsletter, distributed this morning,听reports on an听鈥unprecedented鈥听volume of locate requests in recent weeks听from听Ontario One Call. A recent excavator survey indicated that around half of excavators expected work volumes to be above pre-pandemic levels, with around half saying it would be about the same as pre-pandemic times. Excavators reported that work volumes are up almost 50 per cent in April 2021 compared with April 2019, before the pandemic.听

New Found听Gold听appoints Hurst to directorship
New Found听Gold Corp.鈥痶oday announced the appointment of Douglas Hurst as a director of the company effective immediately. Hurst was part of the founding group of Newmarket Gold, which, following discovery of the high-grade Swan Zone at the company’s听Fosterville听mine, was sold to Kirkland Lake Gold in 2016 for approximately $1 billion.听New Found听holds a 100-per-cent interest in the Queensway Project, located 15听kilometres听west of Gander, N.L., where there is听a 200,000-metre听drill program听underway.听

Suncor, ATCO听explore hydrogen project
Suncor Energy and ATCO Ltd. announced today they are collaborating on early-stage design and engineering for a potential clean hydrogen project听to be built听near Fort Saskatchewan, Alta. The project would produce more than 300,000听tonnes听of clean hydrogen听per year.听It is expected that 85听per cent听of the produced hydrogen would be used to supply existing energy demand.听

OGCA hosts vaccination workshop tomorrow听
With vaccination听registration听now available to Ontario construction workers,听tomorrow the Ontario General Contractors Association and Fasken LLP present a workshop titled Guidance for 麻豆传媒高清ion and Establishing Your Workplace Vaccine Policy. The听event begins听at 10听a.m. via听听Zoom and will feature听Ontario Chief Prevention Officer听Ron Kelusky听and听Norm Keith,听partner at Fasken LLP.听
