Nobes named chair of CCA board of directors

OTTAWA鈥擝rendan Nobes has been named the chair of the 2022-2023 board of directors for the Canadian 麻豆传媒高清ion Association (CCA).

The new board members were announced March 7 during the CCA鈥檚 annual general meeting in Vancouver. Nobes will take over the role from outgoing chair Ray Bassett.

Nobes is the director of major projects for rcs construction, a general contracting firm building landmark projects throughout Atlantic Canada.

He has 35 years of experience in the construction industry, working as a site superintendent, senior estimator, senior project manager and project manager representing the owner. Working at all levels in construction 鈥 from design review and document preparation to scheduling, budgeting, cost forecasting and tender package preparation 鈥 Nobes has adopted a 鈥渃radle-to-grave鈥 approach to construction management, states a CCA release.

A Gold Seal Certified project manager and estimator, Nobes is CCA鈥檚 representative to the Canadian 麻豆传媒高清ion Documents Committee and is also past chair of the 麻豆传媒高清ion Association of Nova Scotia. Nobes, a graduate of Mount Allison University, was also the 2017 recipient of the CCA Robert Saunders Trophy for his commitment and dedication to the industry, particularly to the general contractors鈥 sector.

鈥淚 know the last two years have tested us all and presented us with great uncertainty, but it truly feels like a tide is turning for the better,鈥 said Nobes in a statement. 鈥淭his is the year to capitalize on the advancements made in technology, make our corporate cultures more inclusive, and put Canada on the path to green.鈥

In addition to delivering a refreshed strategic plan, Nobes is planning to advance three initiatives during his tenure: expanding CCA鈥檚 engagement with members, in person in their hometowns; launching new services to elevate best practices in project delivery; and strengthening the bonds between CCA and its partner associations, indicates the release.聽
