Event centre key to ‘Calgary of the future’: Black

Shown is a conceptual rendering of the Calgary event centre. The project had been given the green light earlier by the city’s planning commission, but Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation backed out of the project because of issues related to costs. However, an agreement in principle has been reached that means the centre is slated to proceed.
