VANCOUVER – Vancouver-based developer Beedie is teaming up with Tesla to build the largest service facility in North America for the automaker’s vehicles.
The 120,000-square-foot flagship Tesla Cente will be built in Vancouver at 950 Raymur Ave. on a brownfield site in the city’s Strathcona neighbourhood.
“At Beedie we are committed to building legacies for our vibrant communities, so the opportunity to support the transition to electric vehicles through this partnership with Tesla is exciting. We have often collaborated with innovative companies on unique, built-to-suit projects and we look forward to working closely with Tesla and the local community in the coming years,” Beedie president Ryan Beedie said in a statement.
Vancouver is the city with the most electric vehicles on the road, a Beedie release said, with B.C. ahead of Quebec as the “EV capital of Canada.”
Operations at the new Vancouver Tesla facility will include servicing, vehicle preparation, delivery operations and a showroom.
Beedie is expected to begin construction in the first quarter of 2024 with an estimated completion date of the first quarter of 2026.
