Flush toilets on construction sites now a legal requirement: Eby
PROVINCE OF B.C.

VICTORIA – 麻豆传媒高清ion sites of 25 workers or more will now have flush toilets, Premier David Eby announced Oct. 16, stating it will now be a legal requirement. 聽

鈥淚f we want people to work in the trades, if we want to show people that this is a great way to support your family and build your community, the basic ability to go to a bathroom that doesn鈥檛 stink, that isn鈥檛 a mess, where you can flush a toilet, is a basic requirement for a decent jobsite,鈥 Eby stated at the BC Building Trades constitutional convention in Victoria.

While full details of the plan are in development, the BC Building Trades is celebrating the premier鈥檚 promise.

鈥淲e are excited about the premier鈥檚 responsiveness to this important issue,鈥 said Brynn Bourke, executive director of the BC Building Trades Council, in a statement.

鈥淲ith the premier鈥檚 help, construction workers across the province will have markedly better sanitary conditions onsite. They鈥檒l also be given the dignity they deserve at work.鈥

The BC Building Trades recently re-launched its 鈥楪et Flushed鈥 campaign in order to get the word out and push the issue further.

鈥淭he extent to which the flush toilet campaign was covered in the media and the intensity of the discussion that followed really proves that this is an important issue that requires action from government now, and clearly the premier agrees,鈥 added Bourke.

The 鈥楪et Flushed鈥 campaign was initially launched following significant health and safety concerns in the construction industry during the COVID-19 pandemic.听

As an NCSO & CHSC, I have worked on many construction projects from Quebec to B.C.

Porta Potty’s are cold in the winter and unhealthy

They are hot in the summer and stick beyond belief.

With so many mobile trailered washrooms available, there is no reason not to change.

This initiative will recieve positive feedback and support from the men and women who work in these trades.

The Boots On The Ground, will buy into this quickly
