NANAIMO, B.C. — LP Building Solutions has formed a partnership with Vancouver Island University to support manufacturing training for Indigenous people, states a recent news release.
LP will be providing $30,000 over three years to help fund the Indigenous Peoples in Trades Training and Women in Trades Training programs. The company will also provide products for students and conduct skill-building courses.
The respective programs provide funding for a variety of trainee needs such as PPE, tuition and books.
“Being active and intentional about strengthening our partnerships with Indigenous Nations is a foundational element, critical to our future and the future of the communities where we live and work,” said LP’s Indigenous Relations Specialist Davee Palmantier in the release.
