KELOWNA, B.C. – Fundraising pages have been setup to support the families of four construction workers killed in the Kelowna crane collapse earlier this week.
The fundraisers identified brothers Eric and Patrick Stemmer of Salmon Arm, B.C. as victims in the collapse.
“These men are husbands, fathers, sons, friends and chosen family to so many, this sudden loss is nothing short of heartbreaking,†wrote Emily Roy, the campaign organizer.
Also identified in the fundraisers was Jared Zook.
“Our family is devastated by the loss of our fun, kind and loving son/brother/friend/nephew/cousin/husband,†wrote the campaign organizers. “Our lives are infinitely better for having him be a part of them. We know Jesus is wrapping his arms tightly around him right now.â€
Cailen Vilness, 23, was identified by a Living Faith Church, which has set up a fundraiser for his family.
“Cailen was a prince of a man, and our family is devastated by the loss of our beloved son, boyfriend, brother, nephew, and grandson,†wrote the organizers. “Only 23, he had his whole life ahead of him and was getting ready to spend the rest of his life with the woman of his dreams.â€
The identify of a fifth victim has not been made public. The man was working in a nearby building when the collapse killed him and buried him in rubble. His body was recovered Wednesday by a specialized search and rescue team.
