OTTAWA \u2014 Every June in Canada is National Indigenous History Month, a time to learn about the cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and\u00a0M\u00e9tis people.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt’s a time to honour the stories, achievements and resilience of Indigenous peoples, who have lived on this land since time immemorial and whose presence continues to impact the evolving Canada,\u201d states the federal government.<\/p>\n
That impact is being felt in the world of construction as more and more Indigenous firms and projects take shape across the country.<\/p>\n
What\u2019s more, Indigenous involvement and consultation is being sought out more than ever, with the expertise helping to form lasting relationships and memorable builds.<\/p>\n
The DCN and JOC are celebrating National Indigenous History Month with a look at some notable articles we\u2019ve done throughout the year that celebrate the projects and the next generation of tradespeople.<\/p>\n
Watch for more coverage throughout the month and on June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day.<\/p>\n
