The Ontario Government awarded the major contract to oversee the design, quality control, safety and delivery of this section of the expressway, Prabmeet Sarkaria, minister of transportation, announced today (Oct. 27).
Early project work for the Bradford Bypass is already underway, with crews recently completing a new bridge at Simcoe County Road 4 that will help keep traffic moving in West Gwillimbury, indicates a release. Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇåion is also underway on a that will connect to the future expressway.
Once complete, the Bradford Bypass will be a link for communities in York Region and Simcoe County.
During construction, the project is expected to support over 2,000 jobs annually and contribute up to $286 million to Ontario’s gross domestic product.
The release states, Ontario is investing $28 billion over the next 10 years to repair, build and expand roads and highways. This includes building the Bradford Bypass and Highway 413 as well as twinning the Garden City Skyway bridge.
