Four homes destroyed in Richmond Hill Fire

RICHMOND HILL, ONT. — Four houses under construction in a new subdivision in Richmond Hill, Ont. caught fire July 20.

The incident occurred near Leslie Street and Bethesda Sideroad. York Regional Police and Richmond Hill Fire Services responded at 7:25 p.m.

The buildings were unoccupied at the time and there were no injuries reported.

“Four homes were on fire, fortunately they were new and under construction and were not occupied,” Const. Laura Nicolle, media relations officer with York Regional Police said in an email to the Daily Commercial News. “There were no injuries and this is not believed at this time to be a criminal incident.”

Reports indicate the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
