Teachers invest in Brazil transmissions
The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board today announced it has entered into an agreement with TPG, a global alternative asset firm, to acquire a 100–per–cent interest inÌýEvoltzÌý±Ê²¹°ù³Ù¾±³¦¾±±è²¹Ã§oesÌýS.A., an electricity transmission platform in Brazil.ÌýEvoltzÌýconsists of seven electricity transmission lines that total more than 3,500ÌýkilometresÌýacross 10 states in Brazil. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2021.Ìý

U.S construction employment stalled in April
The Associated General Contractors of America released U.S. employment data Friday showing construction employment was unchanged from March to April as nonresidential contractors and homebuilders struggled to obtain materials and find enough workers. Association officials said the industry’s recovery was being hampered by problems getting stable prices and reliable deliveries of key materials, while the pandemic and federal policies were making it harder for firms to find workers to hire.Ìý

Upcoming improvements slated for BCMC Route
This month a trail improvement project is starting along the BCMC Route. The trail be closed today toÌýfacilitate material and supply drops via helicopter. Starting in late May, the BCMC Route will be closed Monday to Thursday for up toÌý10Ìýweeks.ÌýIt is imperative that hikers do not use the route while crews are working, states a release.
