Bloedel Conservatory temporarily closing for facility improvements
WIKIMEDIA COMMONS — Bloedel Conservatory in Vancouver will temporarily close for facility improvements in late October.

VANCOUVER – Bloedel Conservatory in Vancouver will temporarily close to the public starting Oct. 28 to accommodate what the City of Vancouver termed necessary repairs.

The current pathways within the conservatory are past their lifespan and will undergo full reconstruction, a release said.

Certain areas will also be expanded to enhance accessibility.

The facility will be closed due to its narrow and small pathways to ensure public safety and expedite the completion of the work. Throughout the closure, staff will continue to care for the animals and plants.

Bloedel Conservatory, located in Queen Elizabeth Park, is a domed building with birds, fish and over 500 exotic plants in a temperature-controlled environment.
