High-vis vest photos shared in memory of victims
INSTAGRAM - The construction industry is memorializing the victims of a crane collapse in Kelowna, B.C. by posting pictures of high visibility vests on social media.

KELOWNA, B.C. – Across B.C. the construction industry is remembering victims of a deadly crane collapse in Kelowna by sharing photos of high visibility vests.

“As we all continue to grieve and mourn the loss of our brothers, there is healing in our pain,” wrote Kelowna-based concrete contractor Emry Formworks on its Instagram page. “Over the last few days people have come together. Relationships that have been strained are strengthened. Differences we once may have had are set aside.”

Many are sharing photos of their vests with the hashtag #hangahighvisoutside.

The deadly collapse which happened at a 25-story tower site on Monday morning killed five people, including four workers. The fifth person was buried in debris while working in a nearby building.

The incident is currently under investigation.
